Metal Construction News released its annual Top Metal Builders rankings for 2026, and Fleming Steel Erectors once again secured our position at the very top of the industry. We are proud to announce that we have been named the #1 Top Metal Building Erector by Square Footage in the nation — and the #3 Top Metal Building Erector by Tonnage. We proudly achieved this ranking without ever compromising on our commitment to safety.

The list, published each year in the May issue of Metal Construction News, is the most widely recognized benchmark for scale and performance in the metal construction industry. Earning the top position is a distinction achieved through consistent execution, project volume, and our clients’ trust.

Fleming Steel by the Numbers

In 2025, Fleming Steel Erectors erected 4,285,900 square feet of metal buildings, placing us first among all erectors in the country. To put that in perspective: we completed projects averaging 115,000 square feet — among the largest average project footprints on the entire list.

On the tonnage side, Fleming Steel erected 12,650 tons of steel in 2025, placing us third nationally. Holding top-three positions in both major ranking categories speaks to the breadth and depth of what our crews deliver in the field.
