In partnership with Industrial Developers of Oklahoma and the Fleming Construction Group, on behalf of multi-national eCommerce and technology behemoth, Amazon, Fleming Steel Erectors was commissioned to erect the structural steel and roof for Amazon’s new 300K sq. ft. Oklahoma City sortation center.
FSE’s contracted scope included integrating the structural steel and roof system with full height perimeter tilt-wall panels. Consisting of 2,300 linear feet of connection and roof transitions, this aspect of the project was completed in just 90 days. The entire project from ground-breaking to certificate of completion was finished in eight months.
“The Amazon sortation center was perhaps the most important development project we had tackled to date, with a demanding schedule requiring that the building be functional and ready to deliver packages for the holidays. Failure wasn’t an option, and the team at FSE didn’t let us down. Realizing that the steel package aspect of the job was critical to overall project success, FSE gave us a weathered-in shell a week before the initially scheduled deadline – an accomplishment that was invaluable in helping us meet our timeline obligations. We greatly appreciated the effort and professionalism required to accomplish this and to do it safely.”
